exposure to Peruvian heavy prog balladeers TARKUS arrived this morning in the form of a hijacked con. i've been strung out on a progressive rock habit girthy enough to vomit any punx crudentials in vilolent disgust lately, and was looking for tracks by Emerson, Lake, & Palmer from the hallmarked TARKUS album via teh nets. after hustling my person out of the door on my bike to work post ipod insemination - kicked the first track into total denial. oxidized production hissed sassy overdriven guitars and liquid catty toungues sputtering through my ears - in SPANISH. hardly the familiar works of our painfully british brain salad pilots.
hardly a let down, TARKUS apparently was formed in '71 in Peru out of previous band TELEGRAPH AVENUE. apparently this was released in a limited inital run of 50, seems the southerners couldn't hang with the barbed venusian sour mash these cavaliers were privy to.
